Google has added a private chat feature to its popular photo-hosting service as part of its efforts to transform Google Photos into a social media platform. The developers claim that this new feature will make it easier for users to "share personal, everyday moments" and add photos and videos to their private conversations whenever they share any media file with their friends and family.
With the implementation of this new feature, users can not only 'like' and comment on photos, but also save these photos and videos in their own gallery if they wish. "This feature is not designed to change the chat apps you already use, but it's designed to improve the sharing of memories with your friends and family in Google Photos," the company said.
It's easy to use. You can select a photo, click on the 'share' option and select 'Send in Google Photos'.
As a welcome addition feature, it will be released gradually next week on Android, iOS and websites.
